The Children’s University organised at UCM is inspired by the existence of several European children’s universities. The project of this type is the first project launched in Trnava Selfgoverning Region and presents an excellent opportunity for UCM Trnava to share the excitement of knowledge created through its pioneering research activities and teaching and learning practices with wider community, particularly primary schools.
The project started in 2013 and has become very popular which is proved by the increasing number of the participants. Every year the Faculty of Social Sciences UCM and other UCM faculties provide children with a possibility to become real university students during their summer vacation.
Children at the university get their students´ books, take active part in lectures, workshops, seminars and make field trips. Every child student enjoys and shares the knowledge and expertise, makes new friends. At the end of the programme children students participate in a graduation ceremony at which they get a diploma with the degree „FRIEND“.
